Job Description

Role Overview

Our client, the Thai-Canadian Chamber of Commerce (CanCham) is a long established, and most dynamic foreign Chamber of Commerce in Thailand. The Accountant will carry out all accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities | Deliverables

  • Carry out all accounting functions including:
    • Maintain Quick Books accounting system
    • Prepare supporting documentation for payment of supplier invoices
    • Issue fee invoices for membership, sponsorship, and event attendees
    • Maintain petty cash
    • Track Chamber staff attendance, overtime and other relevant information for monthly payroll
    • Work with outsourced payroll provider to ensure timely and accurate payment of staff
  • Prepare monthly reports for the executive director and the Board of Directors
  • Attend most member events and Board of Directors meetings (there are 16 events and 12 Board of Directors meetings each year)
  • For member events: supervise registration process, registration staff, and cash management
  • Maintain ongoing communication and support with the Chamber Treasurer
  • Handle and process all office administration duties, including:
    • Ensure that office equipment and supplies are working and available
    • Bind reports, arrange mailings of reports, and schedule messenger service
    • Organize files and track use of supplies and supply requisitions
  • Assist in supervision of the Reception area and perform all other related duties as assigned
  • Perform general administrative duties and provide required support in serving our members
  • Ensure that the database of members and contacts is up-to-date
  • Oversee a smooth operation of the office work in general, as required

Experience | Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • Must be able to legally sign financial statements as Company Accountant
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in similar position is desirable
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Quick Books (mandatory), and Outlook
  • Prioritize and organize multiple tasks with timely and accurate completion
  • Willing to attend Member Events and Board of Directors meetings in evenings or on weekends
  • Very good command of English
  • Strong communication and people skills (both face-to-face and phone skills)
  • Positive attitude and outgoing
  • Ability to follow direction and work independently, good organization skills
  • Preference given to person who has had some study at a university located in North America (Canada or USA)
