Job Description

Our client is a large multinational company that will set up its operation in Thailand. The Contract Manager is responsible for advising on all legal matters related to the execution of projects, and the business operation in Thailand.

Key Responsibilities | Deliverables

  • Support the project execution and procurement teams, and implement the supply contract and further subcontracts
  • Be responsible for the observance of all contractual requirements, contractual changes and amendments, as well as for the Claim Management Process
  • Define a claim strategy and implement a professional Claim Management Process to mitigate risk, and minimize liability claims;
  • Support the Project Manager in identifying risks, opportunities, claims, changes, and the execution of corrective actions
  • Prepare claim letters and all formal correspondences with external partners, such as customers or sub-suppliers (outgoing claims); advise on claim letters directed to the company from external partners
  • Generate opportunities such as change orders and additional business, more specifically by preparing and negotiating variation orders from contracts
  • Provide input to the project team for contractual and associated quantum matters of customer contract
  • Collect records and evidences, and prepare a litigation strategy in the event of disputes with external partners
  • Support the responsible Procurement Team in all major contractual issues; these include passing on essential contractual risks to the appropriate sub-suppliers ("back-to-back", e.g. by using the flow-down matrix)
  • Attend all essential project management meetings, particularly if contractual or legal questions are discussed during the meeting

Experience | Skill Requirements

  • Degree in law or completed legal courses related to Thai contract law
  • Passion for contract management and project execution fields
  • At least 5 years relevant working experience on contract & claim management preferably in the infrastructural projects
  • High proficiency in both written and spoken Thai and English
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills, as well as a good team player
  • Experience from multinational companies or foreign studies would be an advantage
  • Thai national only
